Sharing our bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless, clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own. – Isaiah 58:7

Our New Residential Campus
It’s official – we are a two-campus family!!

When the owner of this property – where we had been leasing — put it on the market late last year, we recognized quickly that it would be in the best interests of our organization and our young families to make an offer. Motivated by rapidly rising rents, and supported by a magnificent donation from one of our donors, we were able to make a sizable down payment… and today we own our second residential property!

As the new owners of this campus, we will save $45,000 annually on rental costs. Owning this building also enables us to keep our expanded program at its current capacity.
We serve two types of families at our Waltz Campus. It provides housing for our families who had been residing at our first residential campus, the Stockard Family Campus in West Palm Beach, and who have progressed sufficiently through our program to be able to demonstrate greater independence. These families have established a more stable financial situation and have shown strong motivation and commitment to our program. Therefore, they need less supervision than our families at Stockard, and have moved to Waltz to continue their progress toward self-sufficiency.
In addition, our Waltz Campus provides temporary housing for older moms (in their 30s) and their children, who were unable to find affordable housing in the local community.
With seven 2-bedroom/1-bath units and proximity to daycares, schools, a post office, stores, and public transportation, we are certain that we made the right purchase at the right time!

One of the apartments has been set up to house The Learning Tree, our summer and after-school tutoring program. This program was created in response to the pandemic and has been a resounding success for our little students, who are nourished in mind, body, and spirit at The Learning Tree.
Thanks to other supporters and grantors, we have also been able to make substantial upgrades to the property:
oooo
Exterior renovations include:
- a new roof
- hurricane windows and doors
- a monitored fire alarm system
- landscaping
- garden benches
- a fenced-in playground for the children

On the interior, our residential families enjoy fully renovated bathrooms and kitchens, including upgraded appliances, obtained through another generous grant.
These improvements have added value to our investment, of course, but more importantly they have made the Waltz Campus safer for our families.
oooo
Needless to say, all of this has come at considerable expense!
Therefore, we have launched the
Home and Hope Capital Campaign of 2022–23.

Your donations to our campaign will help us to pay off the renovations and the loan on this property, which our young families already enjoy so much. We were blessed to pay off the loan on our first residential campus in less than two years – we’re praying we can meet or exceed that goal this time!
If you would like to help us achieve our campaign goal of $300,000, we would be deeply grateful.

Why we so strongly believe in Holy Ground’s
long-term, independent living model:
This 5-minute video depicts a theory of change from the Frontiers of Innovation community for achieving breakthrough outcomes for vulnerable children and families. It describes the need to focus on building the capabilities of caregivers and strengthening the communities that together form the environment of relationships essential to children’s lifelong learning, health, and behavior.
