Sharing our bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless, clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own.       – Isaiah 58:7

Health Screenings by Keiser University

Recently, student nurses and their supervisors from the School of Nursing at Keiser University came to our northern campus to conduct health screenings on our clients and their children. This is just the first benefit of our new partnership with Keiser.

The student nurses checked vital signs, verified the status of the children’s immunizations, and instructed clients about proper nutrition, rest, and important things to look for in the health of their little ones.

This new relationship with the Keiser University School of Nursing will be very helpful, as these student nurses will continue to assist Holy Ground in effectively monitoring the health of our mothers and their children!

Thank you Quantum!

Holy Ground was one of three local nonprofits spotlighted at this year’s annual Quantum in the Community Awards Breakfast! Besides being one of the over 100 nonprofits to receive generous checks (totaling $1 million!) from the Quantum Foundation, Holy Ground — as a featured charity — was given the opportunity to speak at the event. Our Development Director/Vocational Director, Angela Wing-Allen, described our program to the guests present, and then one of our clients, Candace, shared how much our program had helped her. Thank you, Quantum, for this opportunity, and for the continuing support you have given us over the past many years!

Everyone loves Phyllis!!
The piglet at our petting zoo was delighted to meet her and give her a kiss, and it looks like Phyllis was tickled pink!

Why we so strongly believe in Holy Ground’s long-term, independent living model:

This 5-minute video depicts a theory of change from the Frontiers of Innovation community for achieving breakthrough outcomes for vulnerable children and families. It describes the need to focus on building the capabilities of caregivers and strengthening the communities that together form the environment of relationships essential to children’s lifelong learning, health, and behavior.
